The Information Systems Laboratory (ISL) Colloquium is typically held every Thursday at 4pm in Packard 202 during the academic year.

The Stanford Information Systems Laboratory develops the mathematical foundations and engineering principles of information and decision systems. We characterize what can be learned, communicated, and controlled, and design algorithms and architectures that operate reliably in closed loop with their environment. Our work draws on information theory, statistics, optimization, and control, with applications across communications and imaging, autonomous systems, energy networks, markets, and AI.
